The United Kingdom released the consumer price index for October, where the monthly index expanded by 0.1% from the previous of 0.6%, better than the expected expansion of 0.2%. In addition, the annual CPI index retreated to 5.0% from the prior of 5.2%, also better than expectations of 5.1%.
On the other hand, the Core CPI expanded in October to 3.4% from the previous 3.3%, worse than expectations of 3.2%.
The monthly retail price index was flat, compared with the previous 0.8% expansion, below expectations of 0.1% increase. In addition, the annual RPI index slowed to 5.4% from the previous of 5.6%, also below the expected 5.5% index.
The annual RPI index excluding mortgages payments retreated in the month to 5.6% from the previous and expected estimate of 5.7%.
