UK's CBI Total Trends for May improved unexpectedly as the index eased to -2 from the previous -11 and better than the expected -9.

The survey of U.K. manufacturers eased some of the woes over the outlook for the recovery wiht the improvement reported for May.

Export orders improved to -3 from -6 and finished stocks rose to 9 from 8. The volume of output and the average selling prices expectations for the next three months both eased to 20 from 22 and 24 from 36 respectively, where the latter is a good indication for slowing pipeline inflation pressures.
