RTTNews - An index measuring consumer confidence in the United Kingdom held steady at -25 for the third consecutive month, marketing group GfK said on Friday - defying forecasts for a slight increase to -24.

Confidence in general economy over the last 12 months has experienced an increase of three points. The 'now is a good time to save' Index, has risen two points to -10 for the highest this score has been this year.

The overall index score this month remained 11 points better than this time last year but still at a historically low level. The annual moving average also improved and is now -31.
