FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - Consumer lending has increased by 11.2 billion pounds in September compared to the 9.6 billion pounds in August , according to the latest report by the Bank of England.
September's reading came above the experts expectations of a 9.5 billion pound rise. Mortgage lending increased by 9.8 billion from 8.5 billion in August, and Mortgage approvals declined to 102,000 fro 108,000 revised in August, previously estimated as 109,000.
Consumer credit increased 1.4 billion from 1.1 billion in August, and credit card lending was 0.3 billion in September. The M4 money Supply, according to the Bank of England, increased 1.0% in September from 1.3% revised in August. On the year, M4 increased 12.8% in September, below the 13.5% yearly rise posted in August.
