U.K. Consumer Price Index (CPI) retreated to 3.4% in the year ended February from a prior of 3.6%, yet above estimates of 3.3%. On the month, the reading rose to 0.6% from January's reading of -0.5% and median forecasts of 0.4%. Annual core CPI came in at 2.4% compared with both prior and expected readings of 2.6% and 2.3% respectively.

Retail Price Index (RPI), know as the cost of living index, advanced to 0.8% from a prior of -0.6% and predicted reading of 0.6%. On the year, the reading declined to 3.7%, from a prior of 3.9%, 0.2% higher than forecasts. The annual reading excluding mortgage initial payments retreated from 4.0% to 3.8%, while analysts predicted 3.6%.
