FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - UK house prices have posted a month on month increase in January, according to the latest report by Halifax, the first one in eleven months, which could be the sign of a bottoming in the UK housing slump as a result of lower prices and easier credit conditions.

UK Halifax house prices have increased 1.9% in January, against the market expectations of a 1.7% decline. Year on year, housing prices have declined 17.2%, after a 16.2% decline in December.
