U.K. Hometrack Ltd. said the average cost of home in England and Wales remained firm, unchanged for the second month, in February, where the number of potential buyers increased 18% as they rush before the end of property-tax exemption next month.

Home values retreated in six regions, three regions changed slightly and London recorded a slight rise.

Hometrack expects decline in prices over the coming months on macroeconomic hurdles facing the British economy.
