FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - Housing prices have declined on the month in January for the third consecutive month, although January's decline has been milder than the one posted in the previous month, according to the latest Nationwide prices index.

UK housing prices have edged down 0.1% in January from December on a seasonally adjusted basis, this is the third month in a row that shows declines on house prices, although the tear-on-year change posted a 4.2% increase.

The three month average has eased 0.3, after the 0.9% increase posted on the previous month. The average price of a property is now at £180,473, which is £7,249 over higher than in January 2007.
