RTTNews - Wednesday, the Office for National Statistics reported an unexpected 0.3% rise in the U.K. industrial production in April. Economists were looking for a monthly 0.1% fall in April. Meanwhile, the annual decline in production was 12.3%, slightly smaller than the 12.4% decrease expected by economists.

The ONS report showed that manufacturing output rose 0.2% in April from the previous month and decreased 12.7% annually. Economists were looking for a 0.1% monthly rise and an annual decline of 12.6%.
