UK industrial production unexpectedly slumped in October by 0.2% following 0.4% rise the previous month disappointing the markets as it opposed expectations for 0.3% rise. On the year, production is up 3.3% down from the previous 3.8% and expected 3.9%.

Nonetheless, the manufacturing production which still accounts for the biggest contribution, surprisingly rose twofolds the expected pace. On the month production rose 0.6% after a revised 0.2% the previous month from 0.1% and on the year production is up 5.8% from 4.8% revised today higher to 4.9% and exceeding the expected 5.4%.
