FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - British Industrial production as well as manufacturing output have posted larger than expected declines in September, according to the latest industrial report published by National Statistics.
Output of manufacturing industries has declined 0.6% from August to September, a decline which has been broad based among sectors, but especially deep in electrical and optical equipment, with a 1.7% monthly decrease. There have not been significant increases in any sector.
On the quarter, manufacturing Output has remained unchanged from the previous quarter, while it has edged down 0.1% on the year. September figures disappoint the experts' expectations which advanced a 0.2% monthly increase and a 0.6% rise on the year.
Industrial production decreased 0.4% on the month and 0.2% on the year.
