FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - Jobless claims change posted a reading of -12,800 persons, while claimant count rate remained unchanged at 2.6% level, according to the latest report by National Statistics.
August's data was revised to the level of -8,500 persons from the -4,200 originally posted. This decrease in the number of unemployed people show an improvement in employment situation in the United Kingdom.
Average earnings improved as well, showing a 3.7% increase in the quarter up to August, while July's quarterly increase was 3.5%. This slight than expected result is unlikely to push BOE to increase interest rates in the next meeting.
