The United Kingdom public finances (PSNCR) for December posted a widened deficit to 23.6 billion pounds from the revised prior deficit of 14.6 billion pounds from 14.7 billion pounds which is better than the projected reading of 25.5 billion pounds.

Public sector net borrowing for December witnessed shrinkage in deficit to 15.7 billion pounds from the revised prior deficit of 18.7 from 20.3 billion pounds while the markets were expecting a deficit of 19.0 billion pounds.
