FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - Retail sales have continued growing at a strong pace in September, against expectations of a much milder increase, with non-food stores and non-specialised stores reporting the largest increases according to National Statistics.

In September, retail sales have grown 0.6% from August, the same growing rate as in August, instead of the 0.1% growth expected by the market. On the year, retail sales have increased 6.3% en the analysts advanced a 5.5% growth.

Retail sales have completed an strong growing quarter, as they have posted a 1.7% increase in the three months to September, sharply higher than the 0.5% growth posted in the same period last year and higher than the 1.3% on the second quarter of the current year.
