U.K Retail Sales Improve Beyond Expectations in March

The United Kingdom released the retail sales figures for March, where the monthly index expanded by 1.8% from the previous of 0.4%, beating estimates of 0.5%. In addition, the annual index expanded by 3.3% from the previous expansion of 1.2%, above expectations of 1.5%.

The retail sales excluding auto fuel expanded over monthly basis by 1.5% from the revised previous drop of 0.7% from 0.8% drop, beating estimates of 0.4%. The annual index added 2.8% from 1.0%, beating expectations of 1.3%.
