FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - United Kingdom's deficit in goods and services has narrowed in December to 4.7 billion Pound from 4.8 billion in November, according to data released by National Statistics.

The deficit for the fourth quarter has widened, however, totalling 14.2 billion pound from the 13.8 billion deficit posted in the previous quarter. For the year 2007 as a whole UK posted a provisionally estimated deficit of 51.0 billion, from 46.4 billion deficit in 2006.

Trade deficit in goods has narrowed slightly in December, to 7.6 billion pound from the 7.9 billion deficit posted in November, while trade in services posted a 2.9 billion pound surplus in December, down from the 3.1 billion in November.
