UK visible trade deficit narrowed to 7111 million pounds in December compared with the prior deficit of 8644 million pounds which was revised to 8908 million pounds deficit, while analysts expected the deficit to narrow to 8600 million pounds.

Trade balance non EU also showed narrowed deficit to 3748 million pounds from the revised 5021 million pounds which was 5037 million pounds, where economists predicted the deficit to decline to 5000 million pounds.

Total trade shortfall retreated to 1109 million pounds from November's deficit of 2566 million pounds after it was revised to 2830 million pounds deficit, which is better than forecasts of 2700 million pounds deficit.
