UK visible trade deficit widened to 8478 million pounds in May compared with the prior deficit of 7389 million pounds which was revised to 7643 million pounds, while the analysts expected the deficit to narrow to 7336 million pounds.

The trade deficit non EU also widened to 5109 million pounds from the revised 4508million pounds which was 4339 million pounds, yet economists predicted the deficit to narrow to 4250 million pounds.

The Total trade deficit widened to 4060 million pounds from the previous deficit of 2762 million pounds after it was revised to 3140 million pounds, which is worse than forecasts of 2700 million pounds deficit.
