Wednesday, the State Statistics Committee of Ukraine announced that the consumer price index or CPI rose 15.6% year-over-year in April, slower than the 18.1% increase in the previous month.

In April, food and non-alcoholic beverages prices grew 11.1% on an annual basis, while clothing and footwear prices rose 8%. Transport charges were up 19%.

Month-on-month, the CPI rose 0.9% in April, compared to the 1.4% rise seen in the preceding month.

For the January to April period, consumer prices increased 19.1% compared to the same period of the previous year.
