Under The Dome
The "Under The Dome" season 1 finale will air on Monday, Sept. 16 at 10 p.m. CBS/ Under The Dome

“Under The Dome” became a breakout series for CBS this summer, but unfortunately the freshman season has to come to a close. The season finale, episode 13, is set to air on Monday, and we’ve got the synopsis for “Curtains.”

Fans of the Stephen King adaptation are in for a treat because secrets of the dome will definitely be revealed during the finale. Episode 13, “Curtains,” will find Junior, Angie, Joe and Norrie discovering who the Monarch is … after “receiving a shocking visit from a familiar face.” Meanwhile Barbie is in danger as Big Jim is “determined” to put an end to him “once and for all.”

The CBS synopsis leaves a lot of room for drama (and cliffhangers) on Sept. 16, but fortunately “Under The Dome” executive producer Neal Baer was happy to dish out some spoilers in late August. Baer told TV Guide that the season one finale will be all about “Junior, Junior, Junior.”

“He has the biggest decision of his life to make,” he teased. And that’s not all – another character is set to “discover something about him or herself that will change everything for Chester’s Mill.”

According to Big Jim’s Dean Morris, episode 13 will leave viewers satisfied, yet asking “how are they going to play that out in season 2?” “It sets up for a great second season,” Norris explained to TV Line.

“Under The Dome” was picked up for a second season in July after being the most watched network broadcast on Monday evenings for four weeks in a row. Stephen King is set to write the season two premiere, with an air date expected in summer 2014.
