The University of Michigan released the preliminary estimate for consumer confidence for the month of June, where consumer confidence dropped to 71.8, compared with the prior estimate of 74.3 and worse than median estimates of 74.0.

The economic conditions index retreated to 79.6 from 81.9 reported in May, while the economic outlook index retreated to 66.8 in June from 69.5 in May.

The 1-Year inflation expectations index eased to 4.0%, compared with 4.1% in May, while the 5-Year inflation expectations index rose to 3.0% from 2.9%.
