IT services provider Unisys Corp's second-quarter profit more than tripled, helped by a gain from the sale of its health information management business, sending its shares up as much as 15 percent.

Net income rose to $120.2 million, or $2.77 a share, from $38.1 million, or $1.02 a share, in the year-ago quarter.

The recent second quarter included a gain of about $65 million from the sale of health information management business. Second-quarter net income from continuing operations was $1.37 a share, compared with 90 cents a share, in the year-ago period.

Revenue declined 4 percent to $1.06 billion, while analysts were expecting $1.01 billion.

Revenue in international markets grew 3 percent during the quarter.

Shares of the Blue Bell, Pennsylvania-based company were trading up about 9 percent at $26.13 on the New York Stock Exchange.
