The University of Michigan released its consumer confidence preliminary estimate for the month of April, where consumer confidence declined to 69.5 from the prior estimate of 73.6 and below median estimates of 75.0, where the economic conditions index declined to 80.7 from 82.4, while the economic outlook index declined to 62.3 from 67.9.

The 1-year inflation expectations index rose to 2.9% from 2.7%, while the 5-year inflation expectations index rose slightly to 2.7% from 2.7% reported back in March.
