The University of Michigan released the preliminary estimate for consumer confidence for the month of April, where consumer confidence rose to 69.6 from the prior estimate of 68.2 and above median estimates of 68.8, where the economic conditions index eased to 82.7 from 83.6, while the economic outlook index rose to 61.2 from 58.3.

The 1-year inflation expectations index remained unchanged at 4.6 percent, while the 5-year inflation expectations index eased to 2.9% from 3.2%
