The US economy released the final reading of the University Of Michigan Confidence index for August where it came lower than expected at 68.9, the index was downgraded from the preliminary 69.6 reading and markets expected no change in the final reading.The Index climbed from July's 67.8 reading.

Economic Conditions in Augusts' final reading came inline with the preliminary reading at 78.3 while the Economic Outlook fell to 62.9 in the final reading from 64.1 in the preliminary reading.

Comparing preliminary readings with final reading fro August, we see that one Year ahead inflation expectations where downgraded from 2.8% to 2.7%, yet Five years ahead expectations where upgraded to 2.8% from 2.7%.
