Two explosions reportedly occurred near the finish line of the Boston Marathon Monday afternoon, injuring multiple people and causing chaos in the Massachusetts capital.

As information about the incident continues to filter out, the images and dispatches that are emerging from the scene are harrowing, showing bloody streets, injured people being carried away from the site and more.

Early speculation suggests that there may have been two bombs or other explosive devices detonated at the scene, but there is no official statement yet as to just what took place at the popular marathon.

Many people who were at the scene of the bombings immediately uploaded photographs of what they saw to Twitter, Instagram and other sites, which are being compiled here as they make their way onto various social media sites.
