FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - Non farm private employment seems to have3 posted a historical decline in December, with employment declining in all three main economic sectors and a specially sharp decline in the services sector, according to data released by Automatic Data Processing.

Non-farm payrolls declined by 693,000 from November to December, well above the 450 decline advanced by Wall Street analysts.

Employment in the services sector, which has traditionally been a net employment creator, has posted a 473,000 decline in December, while the goods-producing sector posted a 220,000 decline in payrolls, and employment in the manufacturing sector declined by 120,000 persons.

The construction sector has continued destroying employment at a fast pace with a net decline of 102,000 in December, which makes a total 809,000 decline in construction employment since January 2008.
