U.S. appeals court says Stanford must stay in jail
A federal appeals court in New Orleans on Monday said accused swindler Allen Stanford must stay in jail until his fraud trial, according to a court document.
In June, U.S. District Judge David Hittner ruled the Texas financier was a flight risk and should remain in custody.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit upheld Hittner's ruling, a one-page order showed.
