FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - The purchasing managers index rose sharply to the level of 56.6 points in December from the 52.9 points posted in November, according to the latest report by Kingsbury International.

The result came out well above expectations of a 51.9 points reading.

New orders index rose to the level of 58.4 points from the 53.9 points registered in November. Employment index declined to 49.0 points in December from the 54.4 poins posted previous month.
