FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - The index of consumer confidence rose to the level of 88.6 points in December from the revised 87.8 points registered in November, according to the latest report by the Conference Board.

The market consensus was a decline to the level of 86.5 points. November's data was upwardly revised from the level of 87.3 points initially posted.

The present situation index fell to the level of 108.3 points in December from the 115.7 points posted previous month. The expectations index rose sharply, reaching the 75.5 poins from the 69.1 poins posted in November.
