FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - U.S. Conference Board's consumer sentiment Index has risen to 54.1 in August from 47.4 in July, while the expectations index soared to 73.5 in August from 63.4 in july; the Dollar has rocketed across the board.

EUR/USD, which was trading around intra-week highs at 1.4360 has dropped to 1.4325 low after U.S. consumer confidence data, and the Euro trades now at 1.4335.

GBP/USD has dropped from intra-day highs at 1.6445 before consumer confidence data to levels right below 1.6400. The Pound trades now at 1.6395.

USD/JPY has spiked up from 94.40 to 94.65 after consumer confidence data was released, although the Dollar returned below 94.50 shortly afterwards.
