U.S. CPI

The United States released the consumer price index for the month of February, where CPI rose by 0.5%, compared with the prior and expected estimate of 0.4%, while compared with a year earlier, CPI rose by 2.1%, compared with the prior rise of 1.6% and above estimates of 2.0%.

Core CPI, which excludes prices of food and energy, rose by 0.2% in line with the prior rise and above estimates of 0.1%, while compared with a year earlier, core CPI rose by 1.1% above the prior and expected estimate of 1.0 percent.
