U.S. CPI

The United States released the consumer price index for the month of March, where CPI remained unchanged at 0.5%, compared with the prior and expected estimate of 0.5%, while compared with a year earlier, CPI rose by 2.7%, compared with the prior rise of 2.1% and above estimates of 2.6%.

Core CPI, which excludes prices of food and energy, fell by 0.1% compared with the prior rise and estimates of 0.2%, while compared with a year earlier, core CPI dropped by 1.1% below the prior and expected estimate of 1.2 percent.
