The US dollar traded lower against its Brazilian real during New York trading on Friday. The greenback slid to a new multi-month low of 2.1970 versus the real by about 2:40 pm ET from yesterday's North American session close of 2.2320. At present, the pair is worth 2.2010. The dollar has been in a downward channel against its Brazilian counterpart since March 30, 2009. The next downside target level for the US currency is seen at 2.152.
