FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - New orders for manufacturing goods have posted a decrease in february instead the increase expectations, according to data released by the Commerce Department.

New orders for durable goods decreased 1.7% in February to 210.6 billion, January had a 4.7 decrease figure. Market expectations was a increase of 0.8%. January decreases was revised to 4.7% decrease from 5.3% negative figures posted initially.

Excluding transportation, durable goods orders have decreased 2,6%, worse than January decreases of 1.6%. Shipments of manufactured durable goods down 2.8% in February, unfilled orders increased 0.8%, the highest level since 1992. Inventories increased 0.5%, also the highest level since 1992.
