The U.S Depaartment of Commerce released the latest indices of durable goods orders for December, where booking for manufactured goods that are meant to last for at least 3 years increased 3.0 percent last month, following a revised gain of 3.7 percent in November and missing analysts' median estimates of 2.0 percent.

Orders for durable goods excudling transportation rose 2.1 percent last month,the highest since March 2011,after gaining a revised 0.5 percent in November, but oupaced economists' average estimates of 0.9 percent.
