Will the U.S. economic expansion create enough jobs to substantially lower the unemployment rate in 2012? REUTERS

The U.S. economy created 115,000 jobs in April, the U.S. Labor Department announced Friday -- a total well below the 165,000 Bloomberg News consensus estimate.

Meanwhile, the U.S. unemployment rate dipped to 8.1 percent in April from 8.2 percent in March.

Also, March's and February's job gains were revised 53,000 higher: to 154,000 from 120,000 for March, and to 259,000 from 240,000 in February.
