FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - Factory orders have increased in the United States in September against the expert's forecasts of a second consecutive decrease, according to data released by the US Commerce Department.
In September, Factory Orders have edged up 0.2% after a 3.5% decrease in August, revised down from the initially estimated 3.3% fall. This reading has improved sharply the experts' expectations of a 0.5% decrease.
Orders for durable goods have decreased 1.7% following a 5.3% decrease in August, while orders for non-durable goods increased by 2.1% reversing the 1.4% decrease posted on the previous month. Transportation orders fell 6.2% after having fallen 12.4% in August, and Non-defence aircraft and parts orders have increased by 18.1.
