The United States released the second estimate for Gross Domestic Product for the third quarter of 2011, where the U.S. economy expanded by 2.0%, compared with the prior and median estimates of 2.5%, while personal consumption rose by 2.3%, compared with the prior and median estimates of 2.4%.

The GDP price index expanded by 2.5%, in line with the prior and expected estimates, while Core PCE eased in the third quarter to 2.0%, from the prior and expected estimates of 2.1%.
