The U.S. released the advanced GDP estimate for the second quarter of 2011, where GDP expanded by 1.3%; slower than prior expansion of 1.9% and worse than median estimates of 1.8%, while personal consumption picked up by 0.1% well below the prior rise of 2.2% and median estimates of 2.0%.

The GDP price index rose in the second quarter by 2.3%; short from the prior revised estimate of 2.5% and better than median estimates of 2.0%, while Core PCE rose by 2.1% in the second quarter above the prior 1.6% and below average estimates of 2.3%.
