FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - The amount of laid off workers applying for their jobless benefit for the first time, has declined in the week of February the 2nd for the first time in four weeks as stated by the US Department of Labor.
The volume of jobless claims has fallen to 356,000 last week from 378,000 claims reported in the previous week. The four week moving average has increased by 8,500 to 335,000, from the previous week revised average of 326,500.
Continuing claims in the week of January 26th have increased by 75.000 to 2,785,000 from the preceding week's revised level of 2,710,000. The four week moving average rose by 24,250 to 2,727,750, from the preceding week's revised average of 2,703,500.
