FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - Initial jobless claims fell to the level of 336,000 persons in the week ending in December 29 from the upwardly revised 357,000 posted the previous week, according to preliminary information by the US Department of Labor.

The experts consensus were a smaller decline to the level of 345,000 persons. The result for the week ending in December 22 was upwardly revised from the level of 349,000 initially posted.

Continuing claims rose to 2761,000 persons in the last week of December from the upwardly revised 2715,000 posted the previous week. The initial estimation for the week was 2713,000 persons.
