The U.S. Labor Department released the initial jobless claims for the week ending July 2, where jobless claims fell to 418,000, compared with the prior revised estimate of 432,000 and slightly better than expectations of 420,000, while continuing claims for the week ending June 25, eased to 3.681 million, compared with the prior revised estimate of 3.724 million and also better than forecasts of 3.700 million.
