The U.S. Labor Department released the Initial Jobless Claims for the week ending July 23, where the index decreased to 398 thousand, the lowest since early April, and better than the prior revised 422 thousand and expected estimate of 415 thousand, with the 4-week average coming out at 413.750 thousand down from 422.250 thousand.

While continuing claims for the week ending July 16, came eased to 3703 million compared to the prior revised of 3720 million and slightly up from median estimates of 3700 million thousand.
