The U.S. Labor Department posted the Initial Jobless Claims for the week ended December 24, where the index rose to 381 thousand from prior revised estimate of 366 thousand and above expected estimate of 375 thousand.

While continuing claims for the week ended December 17 came almost in line with forecast, at 3601 thousand compared to the prior revised estimate of 3567 thousand and median estimates of 3600 thousand.

U.S stock-indices futures were little changed following the weekly jobless claims, as futures on the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.21 percnet to 12,105, while Standard & Poor's futures gained 2.23 percent to 1247.40, Data As of 08:33 New York Time
