The U.S Bureau of Labor Statistics said today that productivity in nonfarm businesses rose 0.9 percent in the fourth quarter, following an initial estimate of 0.7 percennt, exceeding economists' average estimate of 0.8 percent.

Moreover, unit labor casts in the U.S jumped 2.8 percent in the fourth quarter, from 1.2 percent preliminary reading, while also surpassing median estimates of 1.2 percent.
