FXstreet.com (Córdoba) - Stocks fell on Friday after a drop in consumer confidence and disappointing third quarter results from Bank of America and General Electric. The Dow Jones ended below 10,000 with a loss of 0.67%. The Nasdaq lost 0.76%. Markets also fell in Europe and Asia with the exception of Tokyo where the Nikkei 225 rose 0.17%. Crude oil rose for the seventh consecutive session and ended at fresh highs for the year above $78 a barrel.

Dollar is consolidating gains across the board but moved away from intra-day highs. EUR/USD holds below 1.4900 moving in a narrow range between 1.4905 and 1.4885. USD/JPY recovered after falling to 90.55 and rose to 91.00. Currently the pair trades at the 90.85 zone. GBP/USD is hovering around 1.6350 after Cable managed to rise above 1.6300.
