New types of pennies are now available on the new US Mint catalog and available for sale.

Two roll sets of the “Formative Years” depicting a young Lincoln reading while taking a break from work as a rail splitter in Indiana are available for $8.95.

The coins were designed and sculptured by United States Mint Sculptor-Engraver Charles L. Vickers.

The one-cent coins produced at the United States Mint at Philadelphia do not have a mint mark.

The U.S. Mint also has another release on the cards for next week with the launch its new John Tyler $1 coin at Sherwood Forest, the former president's home in Charles City County

The event takes place on Tuesday, May 19, and will be hosted by U.S. Mint deputy director Andy Brunhart and Harrison Tyler, descendant of John Tyler.
