FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - Sales of new houses have increased 9.6% in the United States in July, to an annual pace of 433,000 units, from 395,000 units in June, well above the market consensus of an increase by about 1.6%. The Dollar rose tioo a day high against the Yen, while trimmed gains against Pound and Euro.
USD/JPY broke above 94.30 resistance to hit an intra-day high at 94.55, to retreat later to levels around 94.40.
EUR/USD has trimmed loses, as the pair bounced from 1.4215 intra-day low to reach levels at 1.4235 minutes after housing data was released.
GBP/USD declined to a fresh 6-week high at 1.6160 on the back of U.S. durable goods and negative Wall Street opening, to bounce after housing data, reaching levels right below 1.6200.
