FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - Non farm employment has continued increasing in November in the United States, although at a somewhat slower pace than in October, while the unemployment rate remained unchanged, according to the latest employment report by the US Labor Department.
The amount of non-farm payrolls increased by 94.000 in November, a somewhat higher increase than the 85.000 rise forecasted by market analysts, although a somewhat lower increase than the 170,000 increase posted in October.
Job growth was significant in professional and technical services, health care, and food services while the manufacturing and construction sectors posted declines in employment.
Unemployment rate remained unchanged a t 4.7% for the third consecutive month, somewhat above the 4.5% rate of November 2006.
The average weekly hours have remained unchanged at 33.8 while the average hourly earnings increased by 0.5% to $17.63.
